BOOKTUBE: April Wrap-Up’s, May TBR & Bargain Book Hauls!

Hi, all!

So, as it is the start of a new month, it is time to reflect on the books that I have read in the month of April! It was a rather crappy month, honestly, in terms of ‘reading’ productivity and I only managed to read 2 and a half books! Can you imagine? I had 30 days, but I only read two books? Sure, I had exams, but I was aiming for at least four. The two books I read were indeed, ‘Take A Chance’ by Abbi Glines and ‘Altered’ by Jennifer Rush, and I have reviewed both of them on this blog.

However, I am putting myself up to the challenge of finishing at least 6-7 books this month! I recently did a “April Wrap-Up & May TBR” video on my Booktube Channel (3rd video! Yay!), giving a short non-spoilery review on both of the books I read last month as well as insight onto what I’ll be reading this month! Image

As you can tell from this post, I am trying to cross-section Booktube videos and blog posts, because I feel that both mediums deliver different degrees of ideas/thoughts, like in the case of Wrap-Up’s on my videos, I never go in-depth like I do in my written reviews because of time constraints. However, in a month or so, I’ll have to do full video reviews, but written reviews will remain my priority and I will always do both or only written, mainly because I find it easier to express thoughts, by writing it. As you can tell from my first few videos, I am in no way an eloquent speaker and my accent garbles most of speech because most of the time I’m thinking to myself, “omg what if my mom walks in on me talking to a camera”. Soon enough, I’ll be more comfortable but not in a long time, friends.

Anyway, the books I’ve decided to read this month are discussed in the video I just posted, so do check it out! Also linked is my second Booktube video, a Bargain Book Haul! I will try to post once about two or three videos I’ve done on my Channel, just so this blog isn’t consumed by Booktube, haha!

Thanks for reading!

The Wonderful World of Booktube

Hi all!

I had just discovered this magical world, 8 months ago, and that world is Booktube. If you don’t know what Booktube is, it’s basically a community in youtube where people sit in front of a camera and talk about books! In technical terms: video book blogging. It has consumed me since then, and I’ve ditched all my other subscriptions. Sure, I watch a beauty video every once in a while, but I always find myself gravitating towards Booktubers.

Albeit being less viewed than beauty gurus, or even life-style vloggers, Booktube has some of the best personalities I’ve ever seen. (Case in point: Christine Riccio from polandbananasBOOKS)

I’ve just started my 3 week break from school, and I have the whole summer off as well (yay!), so I’ve decided to pursue a new project in addition to book blogging and that is *drum rolls* BOOKTUBING! Yay!

So I am the most awkward person on camera, and hopefully it’ll get better over time but I think it’s a great medium to share thoughts and discuss books and whatnot. Plus, the tags circulating the community are so much fun to watch/do! I’ve just published my first video today, on a brand new channel with my two best friend being my first (and second) subscriber (lol, this is so sad) but I hope I have the motivation to post a video everyday or at least once every two days for the next 3 weeks!

My first video is on the Top 10 Influential Books in my life. The tag doesn’t require any explanation on each book but I’m thinking it’ll make a great blog post in the future. So if you want to see my first video, here it is (click on the photo) or just check out the channel: reviewsandrambles
